Bus Ride
I gaze at the people all packed inside
Hesitantly awaiting my first ride
Nervous I might be pinched
I can hardly move an inch
Shaking and rattling all around
Everything barely bolted down
Zooming down the windy street
In my stately windshield seat
Along a rickety roller coaster track
Passing oxen with loads on their back
Stares of curious men
When would we get off, Oh when?
The horn giving deafening blasts
To the people walking right past
The driver quickly lights one up
As the conductor whistles to stop
Here’s our stop Jeemangalam
How will we get up passed ‘em?
The people packed so tight
I must squeeze by with all my might
Standing as my arms begin to flail
Desperately grabbing for the rail
Two feet on the ground
Three friends safe and sound.
